I recently wrote a post that hit close to 15,000 views which I know is a bit of a boast, but I am going to make a point here.

Here’s the link to the post: https://tinyurl.com/3udhv28k

I didn’t hit that big (for me) number on the first day.

LinkedIn impressions climb over time. Day one it might be in the 100s, day two in the 1000s and a week later in the 10s of 1000s (when you’re lucky).

There’s a lesson in there for us as authors.

Books build recognition of your authority over time, too.

Shooting to the top of the best-seller list would be so exciting. If that happens to you, I’m over the moon.

But it’s not the reality for many authors. Building a following over time is the path for many of us.

AND the slow boat to authority has its own special value. It is solid. And sustained.

Whether or not your book makes you a celebrity, it will make you the go-to authority in your field, accelerate your business results and sustain them for a long time.
