I recently had the honour of being interviewed by Tom Hitchcock, Managing Director of Purple Patch Consulting. In our conversation, we explored the transformational journey of turning ideas into books and the power they hold to elevate your authority in your field.

Why Write a Book?

A book is more than just words on a page—it’s a legacy, a gift of knowledge, and yes, a business tool. Tom and I discussed the “thud factor”—the impressive impact a printed book has when it lands with weight and presence. It’s a tangible representation of your expertise, whether in a boardroom or with a prospective client.

Breaking Barriers

We also uncovered the biggest challenge authors face: self-doubt. It’s what stops so many people from finishing their books. My role is to guide authors beyond these hurdles to produce something they can be proud of—and that makes a difference.

The Role of AI

Tom and I touched on how AI can support the creative process. It’s not a replacement for human insight, but a tool to refine your ideas and writing. Think of it as a way to enhance your book’s potential, not replace your unique voice.
