I have been sooooo close to buying a whippet in recent weeks. I love them – sleek, fast, and elegantly awkward. A whippet seemed like the perfect match for ‘moi’ ;-).
But my inner equivocator keeps asking me: ‘Are you really prepared for this?’ For the change in my routine and the ‘poo pickups’. It’s a commitment.
In the end, I know I will never be perfectly ready. I will be clear about what is involved and then … I will just be willing.
Willing to leap, show up and see where the adventure takes me.
Writing a book is the same.
A book isn’t some dreamy passion project you tinker with when you feel inspired. It’s a commitment. It changes your routine, your focus, your identity.
The difference between people who have a book half written in their top drawer, and those who have one on their clients’ shelves? They didn’t wait for the perfect time. They didn’t overthink every chapter. They showed up. Again. And again. And again.
Your book doesn’t have to be flawless to make you irresistible to your ideal client. It just has to be finished.
